Air Mattress Toppers: Can an air mattress topper Make A Bed Cozy?

Air mattress toppers are big competition for memory foam toppers that have risen in popularity over the years.

They are very comforting to lay on.

They have the added advantage of being able to turn even the oldest, saggiest mattress into a reasonably comfortable sleeping surface

They are however designed a bit different than traditional bed toppers.

Rather than looking and feeling like very thin mattresses, they look and feel like very thin air beds.

This mattress is simply a plastic inflatable bed shrunk down to miniature size.

The only possible downside to sleeping on inflatable toppers is you can't jump around on the bed as much as you may otherwise be inclined.

They are thin and stretch over the surface of your bed like any other mattress topper, but they come with pumps that fill the inner portions of the plastic pad up with air.

The air is held in the mattress night after night, offering you a naturally comforting sleep surface regardless of what condition the mattress beneath the plastic bed may be in.

You can purchase the toppers in all standard bed sizes, but note that your regular sheets will probably not fit once you add this type of topper to the bed.

The blown up pad is often tall enough to require deep pocketed sheets that will stretch over the topper as well as the mattress.

For most people, this is a small inconvenience when you consider the extra comfort that is gained.

You just might need to secure the sheets before you're ready to install the topper and snuggle up for sleep.

The only possible downside to sleeping on inflatable toppers is you can't jump around on the bed as much as you may otherwise be inclined.

Just like you wouldn't want to jump up and down on an inflatable bed because it can pop, you have to take care to use your air topper gently.

The Aero Bed Topper

To give you an idea of what this type of cover can do for your bed, consider the Aero Bed topper.

Aero Bed is a well known name in the inflatable bed industry, so it is only fitting that they are involved with the evolution of the air mattress topper.

Their topper can be purchased in a variety of bed sizes, but there is one catch: queen sized and larger are all designed for two sleepers.

Aero Bed toppers smaller than the queen size are just one topper that can be filled with different amounts of air to create different levels of firmness.

The larger sizes are designed with two air sections so two sleepers can adjust their side of the topper to the perfect level of firmness for their own desires.

Many people love the two-sided feature of these pads because it can turn even a cheap mattress set into a luxurious bed that keeps two people happy on the same bed.

Yet, those who sleep alone don't always appreciate this feature since there is a small drop between the sides which may be noticed if you roll over it at night.

Pros

• They can be inflated and deflated in a short space of time

• They add comfort to your air mattress

• Good quality ones can be used as support surfaces to prevent bed sores

Consumer Complaints

The biggest consumer complaint against covers like the Aero Bed topper is that they may spring leaks.

This goes back to treating them with gentle care and trying not to romp around on them as you might other types of mattress toppers.
